Our Community Stories
Cole’s Art Gallery
We could not do the work we do without incredible support from our members and the wider community. We’re thrilled to have the support of Cole’s Art Gallery, an organization dedicated to culturally resonant and relatable art. The gallery has donated a number of artworks to our fundraising galas, helping us to raise funds for various causes. We’re immensely thankful for the team’s generosity so far and look forward to even greater engagement in the future.

Cole’s Art Gallery would like to express its thanks, appreciation and gratitude for the acknowledgment given in the correspondence sent to us. We appreciate the thoughtfulness and truly value the charitable efforts made by YABAC. We will continue to support your organisation in any way possible for more positive outcomes.

St Mildred’s Drop-in

We have donated £500 to St Mildred’s Drop-in which offers a hot meal and companionship every Sunday, at St Mildred’s Church in Croydon.

On behalf of St. Mildred’s I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation of £500. Your support with this is invaluable to us and plays a crucial role in helping us continue our mission with the Sunday Drop-In and our Christmas day lunch. Such donations make a tremendous difference in the lives of those we serve. Fr Neil and the volunteers were pleased to meet your representatives and have photos taken together with the Drop-In attendees. Thank you once again for your thoughtfulness and generosity.

The Windrush Generation Legacy Association

We donated £1500 to the Windrush Generation Legacy Association. The WGLA recognise and promote the contributions of Caribbean generations to British society.

On behalf of the Windrush Generation Legacy Association, I would like to extend our gratitude to you and everyone at YABAC FC for your incredibly generous donation of £1500. Your support means the world to us and will have a direct impact on our ability to continue the vital work we do, especially in our outreach with young people and schools. It is truly inspiring to see the commitment and generosity of YABAC FC in supporting initiatives that make a positive difference. This donation will help us further our mission and continue fostering meaningful connections with the community. Once again, thank you so much for your kindness and for standing with us in this important work. We look forward to continuing our journey and celebrating the impact we can make together.

Knowledge and Practice

We donated £1100 to Knowledge and Practice, a non-profit organisation offering free mentoring, educational coaching and outdoor activities during the summer holidays.

Gloves not Gunz

We donated £1100 to Gloves Not Gunz, who specialise in using sport as a tool to engage and create change. They aim to prevent & divert young people from crime, antisocial behaviour, and exclusion from education and care.

London South United

We’ve donated £1100 to London South United, which is managed by Ben Cascoe, son of former YABAC manager, George Cascoe. LSU is a club and community that continues YABAC’s footballing legacy providing opportunities for play across various teams.

“The money YABAC kindly donated to LSU was used to pay for our VEO Camera subscription and also allowed us the upgrade our subscription to include game Analytics. So as well as enabling our players to have footage of themselves for memories and to use to create highlight reels to send onto senior football clubs they were able to get stats and info from games to help improve their performances. As a result of this, six players were able to be signed by semi pro clubs this summer and one player earned themselves a professional contract in the Serbian Super League. We also purchased a bag of training balls to enable the teams to have enough quantity and quality equipment for games and training. Big Thanks to YABAC for helping LSU continue our work with the people of our local community.”
Ben Cascoe, Chairman – London South United
John Fisher Old Boys

We donated £300 to John Fisher Old Boys, a football club established by John Fisher School alumni, which fosters friendship and connections through sport.

“Words cannot express how deeply grateful we are for your incredible support. Thanks to your generous donation, our team is now equipped with new kits that we wear with immense pride. Your kindness has provided us with more than just a uniform; it has given us the motivation and encouragement to strive for greatness on and off the field. Each time we step onto the pitch, we feel a renewed sense of unity and determination, knowing that YABAC believes in us. Your support has not only improved our game but has also strengthened our spirit and teamwork. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making such a meaningful difference in our journey. Your generosity has truly empowered us, and we are more motivated than ever to achieve our goals.”
Mr. AA Benbow, Sporting Facilitator – John Fisher Old Boys F.C.
Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Support Group

We donated £1,200 to the Croydon Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Support Group who have used the donation to purchase equipment and support sufferers in their treatment and recovery.

“The funds that you have raised have made an impact on our members. We were able to purchase a tablet which is available for members to loan particularly in households where there are children studying for exams. We provided 22 members with thermal clothing, blankets and duvets and Christmas hampers for members who were in need over the holiday season. Some small financial grants were also made to those struggling with the cost of living crisis. We also used the funds to purchase items for our hospital packs and baby packs. I hope that we will be able to work with you in the future to continue raising awareness of these conditions and raise funds to support those living with them.”
Sonia Meikle, Chair – Croydon Sickle Cell & Thalassaemia Support Group
PKC Football Academy (Preventing Knife Crime)

We were able to raise and donate £1,800 to the Preventing Knife Crime Football Academy in Selhurst which focuses on encouraging young people aged 6 to 21 off the streets to engage in healthy sporting activity. The Head Coach bought a Veo camera that records training sessions and matches which are then played back to the youngsters for them to analyse and improve their performances.
“This camera will certainly attract more youth players within the community to PKC Academy as it’s been a major goal for us to be able to provide match and training analysis to our players and bridge the gap between our talented youth and the clubs and scouts that are unable to attend our showcase matches. This should result in more opportunities for our youth to be scouted at professional level and potentially generate generational wealth within their own families and community. I hope this will create a greater bond between ourselves at PKC and YABAC as we endeavour to grow our company and build relationships within our community. Thank you so much. Really appreciate what you guys have done.”
Marlon Williamson, PKC Academy Director
